Liability for defective products and houses

Hi,

I have a query about the LDP Act 1991.

The way I read it a house/building itself does not come under the definition of a product as it would be considered and "unmoveable". However, would it be true that individual parts of the building may be a product and as a "moveable"?

For example, if there is a problem with some element of the infill used in the construction of the house and this causes damage to the house, is the infill a product (or moveable) causing damage and therefore loss?

It may be obvious where this example comes from in terms of some current ongoing housing estates. It has been mentioned that there is a case under the LDP Act, but it isn't immediately obvious from my reading as to whether a building is included or not or in the context of the above example.

Any help, as always, greatly appreciated.
