The departure of Lady Doyle from the Finnagael camp, so close to the european elections, must be causing them problems. Any ideas on who they may be considering as a possible successor? A horsebox and a saddle would be an advantage I´d imagine.

not really - apparently drink and betting soars in the bad times. I don't think he could handle toeing the party line for less that what he is on at the minute!

If Ivan is still ubiquitous, he could do both jobs. Remember the day he claimed he was in Shannon Airport, personally overseeing some deal, and it transpired he was far, far away from there? And the way he tried to talk his way out of it on the radio..............! Cringe!!!!!!!!!!
Still, that said, I enjoy hearing his current contributions on radio nowadays. I really couldn't see him going back into politics.
