I live in Cork city and am out and about quite often. I have not yet seen an 09 car apart from a photograph of one being presented to the Lord Mayor.

Nor have I - between work and home I am in (and on the roads in between) various medium/large towns in the North East.

Not surprising though since the industry was in poo even before a recession was ever mentioned.

My husband saw one on Jan 1st. It was a big posh Audi. I haven't seen any yet myself

We had this conversation in work. I've been looking out for them but have not seen one yet.

Saw four - an Avensis, a Fiesta, Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb(lovely looking car)

Still thinking about it myself......

LOL, are you now working for a Skoda dealership by any chance? Wasn't this car voted 'most ugly car of the year'- so ugly they dont show the whole car in the ad, only bits...

Friend bought one the other day, other than that I haven't seen one...aside from being out and about I work in a filling station!

I saw a 09 in Cork and it was a van for an Electrical Contractor - this was yesterday and registration number was around 330 or so.

Last Tuesday I had literally just said that I hadn't seen any 09 cars, and then I saw 3 in a row! All big, expensive cars too. And all with high numbers - each one was 09 D 9xx.

I only saw one in the past 8 days. It was a public servant who bought it, I recognised him. They are the only ones with money now.

and here's me with my battered old 00 punto, where do i claim the new car allowance?

Saw just the one in Cork last week........... my guess is that Limerick overall will bottom the league table in '09 registrations after Dell's news

Is anyone that thinks they can still afford it putting off the purchase of a new car this year because they don't want to rub the peasantrys' noses in it?
