Excel - is it possible to split data in cell?

I suspect the answer is no but on the off chance is it possible to split the date in cells e.g. if I have Joe Bloggs in cell A1 is it possible to split it to Joe in A1 and Bloggs in B1 - would make life a whole lot simpler if it was!

I think the answer is Yes....

Use the menu command Data > Text to Columns (and select Fixed Width)
 
I think you will be better off with Data > Text to columns (and select Delimited) and choose blanks
