Comodo Firewall blocking Firefox

I have been using Comodo for 6 months with no problems. Last week it prompted me to update, which I did. Afterwards I could not open Firefox. Today I uninstalled Comodo and Firefox is running perfectly. I will use the search facility here to find an alternative user recommended firewall but can anyone tell me why this may have happened?

I had Comodo for while but found it very difficult to configure. I'm looking into [broken link removed]one at the moment.

No, that was the strange thing...no message at all.

The first time you opened firefox after the comodo update, a window probably opened saying "Firefox is trying to whatever...what do you want to do?", maybe you inadvertantly told it to block firefox? Anytime I've updated it has to re-learn everything, which can be a bit of a pain.
