Hi,

Does anyone know the rough costs a meeting facilitator would charge for running a meeting assuming 8 to 10 people and it's a corporate event?

Ideally I've like an estimate for 2 hours, 4 hours and 1 day.

Thanks,

Are you looking for someone to organise it, and/or provide a venue, and/or provide a Chairman, and to take minutes and to circulate correspondence, etc.? What kind of meeting is it? What location?

If you mean someone to guide the meeting, encourage discussion, mediate in discussion then I'd say around 1200 per day, 600 for half a day. If there is briefing and time required before you may need to be prepared to pay more.

Thanks for the replies. The location is organised. There would be about 1 hour prep before the meeting and allow 1 hour after the meeting to send out minutes, update actions etc.

Don't expect someone to facilitate AND take minutes. THese are really mutually exclusive roles. If you're going to be on top of keeping a meeting going and ensuring good participation, you don't want to have your head down in a notebook or laptop taking minutes.

Don't expect someone to facilitate AND take minutes...
Agreed and all you'll get is an very expensive note-taker.

I noticed your requirement above for the pre and post-event time-requirements of the "facilitator" and I don't believe that any professional facilitator worthy of the name would be willing to participate in a day-long event on that basis.

The key to a successful event is design IMHO, and not asking for the facilitator's input in designing and reviewing the day is tantamount to setting out to fail. Its rather like going to the builders providers for a truck-load of supplies and asking a builder to "make a house out of that lot".
