Folks,

last week or there about I received two letters in the post from Tesco with vouchers for the new store.
First set giving one weekly voucher for the first 6 weeks of opening, get 8 euro off when you spend 40 euro or more on one transaction.
Second set giving one weekly voucher for the first 6 weeks of opening, get 10 euro off when you spend 30 euro or more on one transaction.
The first one is to be used in conjunction with your clubcard only so I take it that you are a signed up and loyal customer, and the greater value voucher is for new/non regular customers or at least those with out a clubcard.
SO much for giving the loyal/regular customer a decent offer to the new store.
Anyway - I was there last night. You only had the option of the self service till - which was over sensitive - according to the very unhelpful staff member! Then the conveyor belt for the trolley wasn't working. The same helpful staff member just stood there for a few seconds and then went off about her business. I had to discover the alternative lift myself.

Rant over.

I'd expect teething problems in any new business, even from something as big as Tesco, but then I'd expect Tesco to have a high standard of customer service.

I was in Tesco Wexford yesterday and while Mr Bubbly and I were packing up the shopping we were "entertained" by the cashier complaining that she had banged her finger on something, people kept coming with trolleys even though her till was closed (after us)..numerous complaints about the "eejits" with a few F and B words thrown in. Then it was the tannoy system that bugged her...it went on and on.

On the plus side, writing this, I remember, but can't be entirely sure as I was keeping my head down trying not to laugh.....but I think something didn't scan cos I heard her muttering as she practically threw it towards us. I don't think she charged us for it!!

New Tesco Extra, i purchased a bag of donuts - 5 jam donuts the label said, when i got home there was only 4 in it!!! i rang to complain and lo and behold...no answer. very frustrating.

The day before, in the Old Tesco, i bought what was labeled 4x chocolate chip muffins, (with icing on top) when i opened them, they were cinamon and not one choc chip to be found.

i don't have an obsession with cakes/buns, it just so happened this week lol.... i think tesco are conspiring against me.

The standard of service in Tesco Wexford is abysmal, in my experience. "I'm not paid to sort out problems" was the response I got from one cashier there when I found an error in my bill this summer. I'm still waiting for the manager to phone me, as customer service promised they would.
