Hi all,

My partner asked me to switch cars yesterday, out of the blue......

So...I'm driving along and when I brake and put my foot on the clutch there's a loud screeching. This happens everytime. When I brake without the clutch there's no noise but when the cars in standstill in neutral the same racket.

Anybody any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Bring it to a garage.

That noise could be a few quid fix now or a pricey fix down the line.

I'd say fan belt. Get it fixed now and don't wait. If fan belt goes, fan might stop, possibly causing engine to overheat...

if its just a slipping fan belt then its prob not a problem. Alot of cars start doing it when it gets colder. Worth checking to see if you need a new one, which will take about 5 minutes to replace.
