If I emigrate do I need to get new life insurance, PHI Serious illnes etc ?

Also do I need to change the type of insurance I have on my house as I will not be living in it ?

Depends on the terms & conditions of the existing policies I guess?

Probably since most standard owner occupier home/contents policies will not cover such a situation in which there is no owner occupier or the property may even be rented?

Most life assurance companies will cover you in other countries, with certain exclusions for war zones etc. Either read the policy conditions or ring the insurance companies to verify.

Income Protection is generally still valid in other countries, but in the event of a claim abroad you might be required to come home after a certain period of time. Again, check with the insurer or policy conditions.
