Forgot to say Cinema can be very good coming up to Christmas. Boy in the Striped Pyjamas out on 12th September is supposed to be very good. Bring tissues even if you're the stiff-upper lip type.

The Wire - Seasons 1-5 one of the best shows ever

Note for anyone who, like myself, have never seen The Wire and are wondering what all the fuss is about - series 1 to 5 are starting on BBC2 at end of March.

Chance to catch it from the start.

Re: Recommended DVD's

Some for the girls.

West Wing (Rob Lowe but its very good. I only found out the other day that the writer based the character Santos on Albama)

The Wire (Jimmy McNulty - I find the wire hard going I have to say)

The Shield - find this better than the wire myself.

Gossip Girl - hair, clothes, make up

This Life - to be young again.

FX (sky 164) started showing it from the beginning about 3 weeks ago - like you, I'd never seen it, so am just catching it now. So far so good, although it takes a few weeks to get in on it (like most series).

My fav boxsets at the mo are -

Oz, The Sopranos (both HBO classics!)
Babylon 5 (another I'd missed until I caught it all on DVD)
