Visa Debit Card Problem in M&S

Anyone else have a problem using visa debit in M&S recently, apparently they have stopped taking them since yesterday. M&S problem, not the banks (nor mine!) , I have been told. Worked fine last Saturday in same store.

Very embarrassing to be told your card is declined in front of a queue of customers, especially when its the store's problem.

Why? If its the stores problem what have you got to be embarrassed about?

The cashiers words were ' your card has been declined' , there was a queue of people behind me and I had a trolley full of shopping ! The cashier was not aware that the cards were not being accepted. I came home and phoned Hailfax, who said it was a M&S issue. Just want to pre warn other visa debit users, so they're not put in the same embarrassing position.

Ah sure you'll never see the people in the queue again. No need for embarrassment even if the card declination IS your fault. Its only money.

True its only money and maybe not quite so embarrassing, , but its also very inconvenient.
