Need new phone

Hi,
I need to get a new phone. I was going to buy on Ebay but they look fairly expensive and I probably wouldn't have any comeback if it went wrong. I'm interested in a Nokia E51/6500 or maybe a N95. I have a company phone and they only give very basic phones out so I have decided to buy my own phone. So i will either buy a Vodafone ready to go or a SIM free one.
Can anyone recommend a good place to buy SIM free of Vodafone Ready to go.
 
Order one from China, they are great cheep, and reliable.
 
Also lookin for new phone...will the ones from china on ebay work ok on our network..02..?
 
We are in new house and the Vodafone coverage is fairly poor.

I have a Nokia 6234 and the signal is good enough to receive calls but my fiance has another nokia (don't know what model but it's pink) and it's out of coverage unless it's left in a particular corner of the room.

Is there someway to check this aspect of a phones performance before purchasing? Is there some spec for this?
