Conflict with the pre-accident value

As you can probably tell my car has been written off and my insurance company are telling me its only worth €1200. However the car was in great condition before it was wrote off, has feck all mileage for the age of it and cars for the same year with more mileage or equal are going for way more than what they are offering me.

What do I do from here?

I would imagine that they are working from some standard price book or something like that? Ask them how they arrived at that valuation but you might be wasting your time. Check the T&Cs of your policy to see if it covers this and perhaps any appeal process.

Had similar problem with insurance company.. they made an offer and I refused, got about €400 more (total about €5000) after lots of towing and frowing. They have a set amount and it's real hard to budge them.

I recently had a similar problem (although with a newer car). I just copied and pasted examples of the same type (higher spec with alloys/air con etc etc) of car with similar mileage and got my value pushed up by €1200. It's worth a try.

Yes, I've heard of this too and sending some supporting information to your claim that the car is worth more can help. Find some ads for cars with the same specs and send it to the insurance company, this worked in the case I know of, she didn't get all the money but they significantly increased the value of the car for the claim.
