MBNA Credit Card - Can I negotiate rate?

Hello,
I have been with MBNA since 1997, moved to a Gold Card there about 8 years ago, or so.

I use my card a fair bit,have put 18k euro through it so far this year, mainly EBay purchases.
I was thinking about it last nite and was wondering should I try and renogiate my rate with MBNA or even would I be better with a different credit card.

The only thing putting me off changing is the card is linked to my PayPal account, Skpe, bookies accounts etc.
I presume IF I do change that I will not have to pay my 40 euro again for tax?

Why do you even pay interest at all - for this volume of purchases I would make it my number one priority to pay the bill in full every month.

What's your current outstanding balance?
 
Sorry, actually I dont pay any interest..... just after realising that I should be saying, is that with that volume of purchases would I be better off looking for maybe a different card then?
If I was to change, who should I consider, most seem to be "run" by MBNA anyway, so will this stop me moving to them?
 
If you never incur interest charges then why do you want to switch cards at all? MBNA are far from being the main or only card provider! Most banks offer cards (usually VISA or MasterCard). See the Financial Best Buys forum list and www.itsyourmoney.ie CC cost survey for details of CCs on offer including those with special deals for balance transfers, perks etc.
 
As I said the Financial Best Buys forum lists cards that offer such "perks". The benefits in many cases seem marginal. Remember if switching cards to read the Revenue booklet on how to ensure that you don't get hit twice for stamp duty in any single CC tax year.
 
WIth that much going through your card you should get one that offers you perks. I have an Axa MBNA credit card and the more money I spend through my credit card the more money I get off my motor insurance. Yes I clear it every month and AXA are generally the cheapest each time I renew plus they give me a v good rate on my scooter
