What is the average wedding present (gift cheque) that a couple attending a wedding give to the bride and groom, also what should a member of the bridal party (not family) give the happy couple

Have a read of wicklowlass's post re cost of a wedding and you will get some ideas. I would think somewhere between €150 & €200.

Ally34 give what you can afford, if 150 - 200 is too much maybe too much for you, give a token present and a smaller amount in cash/cheque if that's what you want and can manage.

Make sure and invite that friend to your own wedding if she/he is that flush with money.

people who turn up with toasters & other tasteless items to someones wedding in this day and age should be barred from weddings for life, best to give nothing if thats the kind of tat you would like to bring. most couples now have there own house and household items bought long b4 marriage, i personnally believe its insulting to give a gift like that and just think a bit b4 buying any of that junk for a couple.
