I drove through Bundoran a few weeks back and it was like being in a time warp. I expected to see “I shot JR” stickers on car windows. I think that the place was such a shock because I had come through Sligo on the way to Derry and all the fantastic scenery that you pass along the way had me in a good mood.
Are there any other towns in the country that are like this?

Quite a few I'd say. For me, Clonmellon in Co Westmeath and Emyvale in Co Monaghan spring to mind - no offence intended to the residents of either.

I should have been more specific. I meant real towns ;)
Sorry - I thought that Bundoran was made up too!

I've passed through Camolin in Wexford a few times recently. Looks like the sort of place you might be looking for.

Ever been to Mayo? :D

If you looking for a town that is stuck in a time warp try Kilcormac on the main road from Birr to Tullamore. Still has the looks of a town stuck in the 1950's

Stopped off in 'the four seasons' hotel in Monaghan town a while back. Irish gangs of NY meets The Simpsons Springfield. Uug!
