How to Strip Blk Paint

I have an iron coat hanger and wall mounted candle holders which are both painted black. I need to paint them cream but does anyone know how I can strip them down so they take the cream paint properly or is there maybe a special way to get them dipped?

If they are small enough try putting them in a saucepan of boiling water, it will soften up old based paint, which with any luck it will start to fall a way.

Try Nitromorse. Follow the instructions on the tin. Bit smelly and you need to keep it off bare skin. Just finished a small radiator back to bare metal. Perfect!
