does anyone know where i could get a modern version of classic chandelier if that makes sense...i.e no brass etc? just alot of crystal and a small bit of chrome.

any good lighting shops anyone could recommend?

I walked past Falks Lighting on the Coast Road in Sutton yesterday - they have some very impressive modern creations in the window - if only my house was big enough for one!

I would recommend National Lighting, , based in Erne Street, D2 and now also have a new unit off Naas Rd. Got 2 chandeliers from them last year, good selection of both modern and more classic chandeliers, lots on display but they also had some brochures you could order from if they didn't have something in stocl. And they offered 15% discount without me even asking - always good!!
No affiliation with this shop, just a satisified customer!

yeah the 15% discount is standard with them they can give a bigger discount than that as all their products are overpriced. Wesco in navan sell some of the same products at a much better prices...shop around!

The mark-up in lighting is unbelievable. Like yourself, I spent ages looking for my perfect 'modern' chandelier. Eventually found it in a shop in Cork but nearly fainted at the price tag of 1,200 euros. Found exactly the same light on the internet for 600 euros, and that included the tax and shipping from Denmark!
Unfortunately mine is mostly chrome with no crystal so prob wouldn't be what your looking for. The website I found it on was www.1929.co.uk if you want a peek.

Found a great crystal & chrome centre piece light in the lightstore in Drogheda, in the old Industrial estate. Best of luck...

Am looking for a modern chandelier myself and considering buying from this crowd: [broken link removed] who seem to have a great selection at very good prices. (I have no connection with them)

I've no idea if they're good or bad but I saw a company called www.chandelier.ie advertised on the back of a bus, stuck in my head as I thought it was a very odd place to be advertising chandeliers! Might be worth a look.
