i received huge gas bill

i received a huge (to me) gas bill of 407 euro for two months. my house is very warm and i turn the gas on in the morning for about 20 mins and maybe a half hour in the evening.

could this bill be right ? i have apparently used 5846 kws in two months.
can anyone translate what thats meant to mean?
 
Yep - check if it was estimated
You can submit your actual reading for your next bill by Phoning them up.

Prob not the correct forum for this though....
 
if its an estimated reading i reckon you have grounds to tackle gas company , if an actual reading then your gonna have to pay the bill.
 
We received a whopper bill today too! I'm still in shock, it was €462.00 for 2 months, problem was last bill was an estimate and that would typically be our dearest bill (over the Christmas period), I think it was just under the €200 mark, I kept meaning to out to the box and take a reading for them but I forgot to. Perhaps your last one was an estimate too?
 
Same here. recieved a shocking bill of about 400€ in Feb. Turns out the previous bill was estimated. The current bill was a meter reading which brought our usage and amount due to the correct amount.

Pain in the back side.

Edited: LOL. Berbatov - you just got there before me. The exact same thing happened. I managed to check our reading and it was right. Out Nov/December bill was only 180 or something.
 
yeah it was estimated the last one was 183 euro. theres one gas box between four houses i havent a clue how to read it!!!
