mobile telephone rings in ads

wondering if many people are irritated by these ads. quite often i jump up aat breakfast believing the telephone had rung which in itself can be quite worrying early in the morning. perhaps my ears are not sharp enough to detect that the ring was only in the ad. is there any way to avoid this stress apart from switching off the radio.

It's a bit like ads which use car horns - frightens the life out of me when I'm driving!

Doorbells in ads send the dog mad, he thinks someone is at the door...

strange thing is he never lived in a house with a door bell !!!

I agree. I actually think they're a bit dangerous and distracting.

Change your ringtone to something less common?

very good idea but there are two other mobiles in the house and once i hear anything that sounds like a mobile i jump up. must try and exercise more control!
