Does anyone have any idea what sort of costs are involved in going from a flat felt roof to a pitched one with velux? The roof is of a kitchen extension and is approx 15 feet long by 8 foot wide.
in and around 4-5000 euro
thats only 15 rafters each side
min of 200-300 roof tiles
about 30-45 ft of pvc gutters etc
you dont have to take the flat roof off ,you just need a small bit to cut out of it , to get to the wallplates for your new rafters
The surveyor reckoned flat roofs aren't any use long term and this one he reckons has had it's day. Collecting puddles etc. I'm putting a new kitchen in and so may aswell get the roof changed while it's being done.
you just trim out a space in the flat roof for a velux , theirs no point in taking down the flat if you dont have too , they are acting as ceiling joists
