proposal in amsterdam

hi all, am in urgent need of help, had planned to travel to paris to propose to my long time GF, however she has booked amsterdam same week as surprise for me. now plans are complely messed, however i hope to redeem the situation by popping big question in amsterdam. (my intention was always to travel to antwerp to puschase ring which is still possible) can anyone help me with romantic locations, or unique places for proposing, i am researching hotels and resturants at d moment, have not got much time to research. any help appreciated... reason i cancelled paris and go with amsterdam is to ensure she is surprised :)... no expense spared :)

You could arrange to stay in the Pulitzer hotel - top class 5* overlooking the Prinsengracht - you could also organise a boat trip for the 2 of ye, wither privately or on an organised tour.

Lovely restauarant to go to is Chez Georges (I think its on Herenstraat) - very cosy restaurant with really nice food (we had the 7 course surprise the last time we were there) relativley expensive, but still cheaper than any equivalent here in Ireland
Sometimes there's ice-skating on rembrandsplein at this time of year - bit packed to be really romantic I think though.
Personally speaking, just walking along some of the canals and seeing the meeting of 14 canals at Reguliersgracht & Herengracht - its all lit up and night and looks very romantic, **sometimes its not about money!!

Also, just in case you didn't know you can still get a train direct from Amsterdam to Antwerp to buy the ring!
