Hi everyone

Looking into a possible move to Finnstown Cloisters, near the Griffeen/Finnstown/Adamstown areas of Lucan.

Is it a quiet enough place ? I don't care about schools, shops, etc, just need it to be free of scumbaggery and low in vehicular traffic. Looks to be a nice green area too - so don't want to move there only to find out it's a haven for quad-bikes and bonfire enthusiats :)

Thanks

Frank

You won't find that anywhere in Lucan...!

HI;

Finnstown is a nice estate, nice greens inside it also. Area is quite enough as far as i can see, dont live in that estate but one beside it and its quiet as you can get. No worries about trouble either, its all good.
Good bus service, as bus lane all the way to town, 25x is excellent, always on time.

Franksm..I had a mate living in Finnstown for 10 years..and sought his advice when moving to Lucan..I believe there was some flooding at that end of Finnstown a couple of years ago.he brought me down there to have a look and warned me against it..you should seriously check this aspect out..as the EA and see if it has happened..

Yeah - read about that - think it happened in 2000 ? Apparently the underground water piping has been substantially upgraded since then - or so the story goes.

If you are interested in flood info you can look up some opw records here: [broken link removed]

And here is some info on the upgraded griffeen river works by the sdcc:

Hi all;

The flood happened in 2000. The river Griffin got blocked under the griffin road, this was rectify in 2000 at the time of the floods and there is now two exits there for the water to go through. Apparently some builders materials had blocked it. It has rain more lately over the last 3 weeks than before(seems like it) and no where got flooded. Actually dont even think the area is a consider a flood risk anymore after the work that was done on it!
