Lynx Black Cat Golf clubs

Hi,

The above clubs (and bag) were on offer on ebay for a buy now price of £500. I offered a best bid of £250 which was accepted almost immediately.

My concern is first that the clubs are brand new per description and second, the retail value of the clubs is around £750. On checking Irish retailer sites, the price for irons only was €500. So in essence I am getting 500 sterling off, nearly €700.

Has anyone had a similiar experience of buying such a marked down set of clubs and, did the clubs purchased survive a round or two? It seems a little too good to be true

thanks

Why not buy a good set of Callaway or Ping second hand and swerve this "deal" altogether? Lynx Blackcat would not be considered top drawer and I'm not convinced £250 is a good deal.

hi, thanks,

i'm not looking for top drawer, i'm just a beginner and compared to a new starter kit for €300 and this new set for just over €300, would you agree it sounds like a good deal?

they may not be top drawer as you say but retail price and this price are hugely different.

They could be genuine, an older range, or an unwanted gift, or they could be fake.

Are you buying them from an ebay golf retailer with lots of feedback or from a private small-scale seller ?

There seem to be lots of sets going for around £300.

Or they could be counterfit - there are some amazing fakes and a few e-bay guides about them.

Another guide.

Are there woods and a putter too or is it just irons and the bag?Counterfeiting as the other poster said is a huge issue too

hi,

woods and putter plus a few extras are thrown in along with irons and bag.

the seller is down as a reputable source given the reviews. it had a 99.6% rate.

if they are fake I have right to reclaim if anything goes wrong. first thing I'll do when I get them is bring them to a golf pro shop and compare.
