I'm looking for some suggestions. I currently drive a 04 3 Door Renault Megane (60k miles) but while I love the car a new baby means that for the sake of my back I need to get a 4 door car. Looking to spend about €6K with my car. I know the budget won't bring me into the Yummy Mummy arena but I would like something with a bit of street cred and of course reliability. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bit of a Ford fan meself - you could get the Focus or even (if you don't mind trading up to an 05/06) a C-Max, both are highly rated.

C-Max will work well for kids. Easy access with higher seats. Less bending. It's still good to drive too.

My mother-in-law has a new Fiests. Very good car. She fits my three kids into it just fine :)

You could look at a 05 (old shape Civic) 5 dr....loads and loads of room in the back and they coome with air cond for those rare summer days.... plus you have bullet proof reliability....

Thanks for taking the time to suggest some cars. I had a look at the C-Max but had expected it to be more different to the 'regular' focus. Anything else I should look at?

Hi.

I would recommend a Citreon C5 - i bought one when my baby arrived (i too sold a Renault - Laguana) - the C5 has 5 star safety standard, is big and my favourite thing about it is the comfort - unbelievable. But i can also turn off the passenger airbag - so i could have her up in front with me when she was in her travel pod (before she went into the back into the 9month or older car seat) - it also have a very very big boot, and the car looks really good in black or Grey Metallic with alloys etc.

Best of Luck with your search

Skoda Roomster, VW's new Tiguan, Daihatsu Sirion or Terios, Subaru Justy (which is a Daihatsu Sirion with a few extras).
