Cleaning Wooden Floors

I've recently got a new puppy who has soiled the wooden floor in the sitting room and also tiles in the kitchen. I've used a disinfectant but have found that it leaves a residue on the tiles after washing them so much. The wooden floors are all sticky. I've started to use Milton on the tiles which is lifting the residue but was just wondering if its ok to use on the wooden floors (semi solid oak). Any advice greatly appreciated!

Suggest Dettol Spray& Mop for the tiles (smells better than disinfectant IMHO, no need to rinse, no residue that I can see) and either Pledge Soapy Wood Cleaner or Mr. Sheen for Laminate and Wooden Floors for the semi-solid. The last two products are dilutable, and need no rinsing, but suggest you use a micro-fibre type mop that is damp rather than dripping wet. Don't use disinfectants or other harsh cleaners on the oak.

Your little doggy will have difficulty maintaining balance on the wooden floor and his nails may scratch it over time.

Thanks for that will give it a go....the smell of the disinfectant is taking its toll now at this stage!!!!
