Hi,

Does anyone know if the developers of this site are planning on running fibre into it. I have tried with Hooke and McDonnald but they have no answer and I cant get a peep from Largan Homes/Hanly Homes. Where would I find out if there was fibre running down Shanowen Road and what is the possibility of them running it into the development? Does anyone else have experience with this sort of problem?

Please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by running fibre into it?

Cheers for that clubman. ;)

And to the Op good luck with get any response from ea or builders about that development as it has turned into the development from hell.

Hi foxy,

Fiber to the premises (FTTP) is a form of fiber-optic communication delivery in which an optical fiber (cable) is run directly onto the customers' premises. Most houses in Dublin usually have standard Eircom copper cable rather than fibre optic cable. Optical Fibre is used by many telecommunications companies to transmit telephone signals, Internet communication, and cable television signals over the same cable but with no effect to either service. Due to much lower attenuation and interference, optical fiber has large advantages over existing copper wire in long-distance and high-demand applications.

There is a big demand for FTTH in the Dublin area and if this is being deployed in Milners Square it will add to the resale value of the property in years to come. The fact that the ground is being dug up and it being a brand new development I will be very annoyed if they don't implement the technology.

Do you know of any fibre is being laid?

Regards,

I am not sure if this is being used. As for it adding to resale value of these I cant imagine that as the flippin place is not looking like it will ever be built.

i know that this development initially was going with the IT Partners "Smart Homes Ltd" - however this has recently being changed. The new IT Partners are now Drakewell Electrical Ltd and also a company called Powerhaus..I think.........Its a good question.

Hi Foxylady, just wondering what you mean by it being development from hell? Are they the apartments at the end of Santry avenue where the hotel is?
Thanks.

They are on Shanowen Road opposite Santry Police Station and by development from hell I mean the delays in building it and the complete disregard for the purchasers from developers.

It was supposed to be built by next month, most of it that is not all, and first block is not anywhere near finished , not to mention there are only ever about 4 or 5 builders on site.

Thanks for that andycole, I'm off now to bang some heads

Has anyone bought one of these apartments taken any action about the delays. It seems to be going on forever. Not sure if we can do anything.
