Selling Off Appliances from New Home

Hi all,

I need a bit of advice. I'm moving into a new home this weekend where the previous owner is leaving behind some appliances that I don't want. I'm removing a fitted oven (I hate them) a medium sized fridge and a washing machine that are all about as old as the house (3 years). I'm sure that these applicances would still be fine so I thought I might as well try and sell them. Can anyone suggest the best way of doing that? I had thought eBay, but they really should be picked up in the area (East Cork).

If your in East Cork the the free ads section of the Evening Echo known locally as the pink pages.

If your buying replacements, the WEE charge that you pay covers you for collection of the old item. Nobody wants 2nd hand fridges etc nowadays unless they are in top condition.

Speak to any local estate / letting agents where they may have landlords on their books that may wish to put certain applinces into houses / apartments prior to renting.

You also have the option to just do a 'Free to Take Away' add on the Echo Free Ads

If they aren't sellable, then I would rather give them away rather than add to the junk mountain. Thanks again for the advice.

When I bought my last place, everything was left behind and all in good condition - except the washing machine. I advertised it all on Jumbletown and everything was gone within a few days. Everyone collected so it cost me nothing. People were delighted with the stuff they got.
DID took the washing machine when delivering the new one.

Well I sold it all tonight! A nice gentleman came for the fridge, saw the oven and washing machine and enquired about them as well. He took the lot! He is getting married soon, so good luck to him!

I sold it all through gumtree if anyone is wondering.
