Hi all
hoping you can help with suggestions of modern restaurants in barcelona for 6 ladies on a hen, looking for lively place a bit like boulevard cafe in dublin-nice waiters and good music
Thanks

Els Quatre Gats [broken link removed] (probably the best) or Can Culleretes (basic but fun) . No music in either of these.

can highly reccomend a restraunt called Quinzenits on the Placa Reial just off La Ramblas..... directions.... 1/2 to 3/4 way down heading towards the seafront on the left hand side of La Ramblas... the restraunt is to the very left as you enter the square...u cant miss it - top class food, very reasonable prices, always music and entertainment on the square while you eat.... I pay it a visit everytime I go to Barcelona - enjoy

ATTIC on 120 Les Rambles is very nice. Good food and wine at a great price. Its part of a group of restaurants, and all are very good. Book online before you travel, as its hard to get a table, especially at weedends. enjoy www.angrup.com

I second that - we went a few times, we liked it so much. However, be prepared to queue. It opens about 8.30 - not sure of exact time - and a queue will already have formed. It you are there about 9 you might have to queue for 3/4 hr. until the first group have begun to dribble out.

The Attic is lovely for modern Spainish food (spinach salad is great!) There is another little restaurant....very typical local food, but can remeber the name but roughly 200yds down Las Rambas (heading to seafront) down a tiny lane on the left.
Restaurant is about 50yds on right...real old style with salamis & ham hanging. Prices are very reasonable....about €25 including loads of quality wine & some Sangeria. Worth taking a ramble to see if you can find it. Generally speaking, if you go off Las Ramblas (even by a few yards!) you will get better local food at very reasonable prices.

Is this not Can Culleretes, but its on the right of the tiny lane not the left? http://www.culleretes.com/ENGLISH/ENGwhere.htm

I was in Barcelona during the summer and discovered a very cute little restaurant called Le Crena Canela just off Placa Real which serves simply cooked food and is inexpensive. Les Quinz nits is nearby and is extremely popular. If you don't feel like queuing this restaurant has a sister restaurant called La Dolce Herminia which is located on Via Laetina not far from the cathedral and Els Quatres Gats. It is very cool, lovely food and seriously cheap. Would definitely recommend checking it out.

will edit above....it is on the right off Las Ramblas (not left as I posted above) but don't think it is the location on your link....I'm always annoyed I didn't take a note of the name. However, above restaurant looks lovely!!
