I am looking for some recommandation for an alarm company in Cork Area.
The house is a pre-wired 3 bed semi-d.

i went with O Mahoneys in bandon! very helpful and got it for 500ish! most of the houses in my estate went with the same company!
 
Was your house pre-wired for the job?
I am looking into doing this and keep getting quoted in and around €1000.
 
Since the [broken link removed] legislation came into effect, anecdotal evidence would suggest that registered installers have upped their prices.

elchanco, could you confirm whether you have any association with the above company?

My house is pre-wired! Is yours also pre-wired?
€1000 sounds a little bit expensive to me! For what kind of alarm system did you get quotation? (24h monitoring?)
 
My house is a 4 bed detached and is pre-wired.
The alarm itself and fit would be the cost.
I have tried numerous guys out of the yellow pages and a referral.
Nothing for under €1000 and a few quite a bit more.
That is way I was very interested in the €500 quote in post #2...

Whan you ask what kind of alarm system?
-Box outside, keypad inside, hooked to central box checking all connectors on access points.
Nothing fancy...
 
For my last house, which was a prewired semi, I used B.S.S (Buckley Security Systems) on (087) 2100400. They are based in Blarney, but we were in Carrigaline, so I presume they cover most of Cork.

Very professional job, including, when they found that the builders had cut one of the sensor wires in error, they chased new wires taking care that it was hidden.

No connection, only a satisfied customer.
 
hi lads,
my house was pre-wired by the same installer. they were offering a discounted price for the houses in the estate. that might explain the great price i got.
I rang around, and got quotes that were very high.
i got a digital panel on the wall, all windows (downstairs), and a dial-out txt alert system for $580. I was doing to do the job myself (im a spark) but ordering the materials was costing near the price i got quoted.
That was about a year ago...good luck.

ours is a 4 bed detached with sunroom and got it wired with Deady security in carrigaline, very clean work and very professional, came to 750: central alarm box, all doors/windows alarmed, infra red in sunroom plus french doors alarmed and alarm box inside and outside. a digi sender costs 250 more, handy f you want a extra piece of mind. House was pre wired by builder, so you should get it done for alot less than 750 as its a semi d..
