Travel insurance

I'm going away in a couple of weeks. My friend booked the flights. We're flying out Ryanair and coming back AerLingus. My pal booked travel insurance with Ryanair when booking the outward one way trip. How does this work? How do they know how long we're going for, or does it expire after that one day? I checked the 'Terms and Conditions' on their site but it's all gobboldy-gook to me and just added to my confusion?
Could anyone clarify the situation of getting insurance when booking a one-way flight?
Thank you..

Should have booked with justcover.ie - Ryanair are very expensive. Golden rule is, if something seems easier than you actually doing somethin else it is probably dearer.

Why Justcover specifically? How do you know that this is the most appropriate source of cover for this specific individual? Why are you insinuating that there is something wrong with Ryanair's cover? Do you have some vested interest? From your posts to date one might assume so...

I use justcover.ie and I have no vested interest! But what is good about them is that they provide Personal Accident Insurance which is applicable to car hire, good for us as we go to France a lot and rent cars there. Apparently another company getcover.ie does not include PAI for Car Rental. I found them one of the cheapest too.
