Hi

I've travelled to Australia a couple of times. No need for a holiday visa to be embedded in your passport anyway. Is it a holiday visa or one year working visa?

I booked it through travelup.co.uk going dublin - heathrow -korea - sydney €1050 incl visa, the cheapest i could get in ireland was €1480 so a nice little saving!!

its just a holiday visa i got, just that someone said it should be on your visa and not a print out????

For australia you don't get one of the usual visa stamped into your passport, there is no physical paper with it.

What you get is an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) that is linked to your passport and passport number.

When you check in with the Airline their computer checks if your passport has an ETA.

So if you loose your passport you need a new ETA for example.

travelup.co.uk should have provided you with an e-mail or something confirming that you have an ETA.

Our local travel agent arranged our visas for us. We dropped in our passports to them and they had a printout for each one of us which they attached to our passport. The paper printout was never checked when we got there but Australian officials do check each passport number on their computer system when you arrive at immigration....hence the long queues in Sydney airport!

Going to NZ as well for a week do you know do I need a holiday visa to go there as well? Travelling to and from Sydney.

No need for a NZ visa. You do need a return ticket though and have enough money to cover your expences on the trip (can't remember how much though).
Like people already said, you don't get a paper visa stuck into your passport for Aus. Your travel agent should have everything done so when you show your passport at immigration in Australia - they already have your passport number linked to an ETA so they'll just stamp your passport to show the date you arrived.
If you had bought the ETA through the Australian Immigration website you could check it online but as you bought it though the travel agent you can't but I'm sure everything is fine. Enjoy
