A Chairde,
Have e-Bookers flight for dub - heathrow - toronto for tomorrow morning, but need to cancel , friend died and is buried at weekend.
on e-Ticket it says

Cancellation Fee: ANY TIME CANCELLATION EUR 100

May sound stupid, but can I cancel, amend dates at this late notice without losing whole ticket fee (616 eur)

Sorry to hear bad news,

Have a look here - about half way down.

It seems as though you can't I'm afraid, though if you read the last line..........

Holiday arrangements excluding packages:
(i) Cancellation rules will vary as per individual bookings. Tickets are presented to the respective airline or consolidator for assessment. Refunds by airlines or consolidators for part-used tickets are always less than pro-rata and in some cases there may be no refund value whatsoever. Refunds will not be paid to you until they have been received by the Company from the relevant airline or consolidator. This usually takes 8-10 weeks but in some cases (e.g. lost tickets) may take considerably longer, i.e. up to 9 months.
(ii) Other Period before departure* Amount of Cancellation (subject to documents charge shown as percentage being issued) of the holiday price
Between 4 and 8 weeks 50%
Between 2 and 4 weeks 75%
Less than 2 weeks 100%
Failure to arrive at point of departure 100%
You will be notified on your confirmation invoice if different cancellation charges apply.

If you've got travel insurance and aren't travelling at all, you may be able to get a refund (minus any excess which applies) for the cancelled ticket.

Most travel insurances have very tight conditions around cancellations due to bereavement and have specific lists (e.g. parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle) of how close the deceased person needs to be to qualify.

Sorry for your loss, Crumdub

Thanks Rainyday,

Just an update:

Flight was booked thru e-Bookers, and airline was BA. When rang e-Bookers, they said only BA could cancel / refund me, rang BA , they said I had contract with EB , and they would have to repay ....... after 5 calls 3 = EB , 2 = BA , we established BA will repay EB, and EB repay me .... e-Bookers tried to say because of short notice of cancellation they could not refund me, a bit of sharp practice on their behalf , as BA would refund them .......

They have verbally stated I will get back 500 euro, flight was 650 less 100 = BA Cancellation; 45 = EB Charges , but mail just stated cancellation .

Will keep you updated , as I think this is common practice.
