car heater blowing hot or cold air and still not clearing mist off the window?

hi

has anyone experianced the problem of there car heater blowing hot or cold air and still not clearing mist off the window

Just found out it is the heater core as it has started to leak into the passanger foot well. I have been quoted 390 to replace. So the new question is anyone know if this is a high or low price

depends on the car eg 95-02 range rovers are prone to this and the official cure is to remove the entire dashboard to replace two 5cent o-rings.

Its a 00 primera so i would imagine the dash will need to come out which isint an easy job so taking into concideration labour time/cost 400 seems about right:(

Is the 400 euro a main dealer price. Its a fair bit of money to spend on a 00 car. Maybe you could pick one up in a breakers yard.

try putting in some of that stuff for bunging up a leaky radiator before shelling out .

its wasnt a main dealer just some place in the golden pages that does radiarors and heaters. If i try the stopleak stuff will i have to drain the radiator i have no idea how it works

just pour into the cooliong system (not while car is hot
!) turn heater control to hot and drive car - within an hour the
leak should be stopped. Then you will have to dry your carpets

Directly into the radiator or expantion tank or both

I got the sealer and put it in drove for a good while and then just let it run with the heater on and there is plenty of heat ( i was sweating after a few minutes ) and the leak seems to have stoped. Is there anything else i need to do other that pray it is in fact fixed and stayes fixed

2 our fathers and four hail marys , twice a day while facing mecca and it will be fine
