Casual labourers to move some furniture between houses

Am moving some furniture between houses soon and wondering where could I get some labourers (only term I could think of) to help me. Cash in hand for a few hours work, anybody any ideas..thanks

Don't know if you want a van, or where you are, but I've used Karim 087 678 2385 a cpl of times in Dublin. He brought 4 helpers on one occasion and 1 on another - I estimated how many he'd need. Charged me E130 per run with himself & 1 helper, which I thought very reasonable.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah I will need a van...Its a run, most probably two, between Swords and Lucan...

Why not hire a van and get some mates to help on the promise of lots of beer afterwards.:D

Foxy, your right, that was Plan A but mates are on hols...and other shave just moved themselves...Was thinking of hiring a van myself thats why was just looking for muscle..

what about some teenage lads that live near you looking for some extra pocket money at the weekend.
 
I've noticed man with van ads on gumtree.ie. Local free paper should have ads too. When I wanted a vanload of furniture moved recently, I was surprsied at how cheap the quotes were. Might be cheaper to hire man with van than man and van seperately!
 
I'd be wary of say, the local teenagers on school holidays, as if they hurt themselves during the moving process, then you are leaving yourself wide open for potential liability.
