I have garden fencing (about 3 years old) and am now applying Ronseal preservative. I have heard that I need to apply a few coats since this is the first time and the timber tends to soak a lot of it up.How many coats should I apply? Thanks.

Recently I have painted my fence for the first time(I cant remember the product). I only put one generous coat on and it looks great.

In any case you should know after you do a sample area, at most I would say two coats.

Ronseal Fencelife One Coat comes in a range of colours, can be bought in either 5litre or 9 litre buckets, they also have a sprayable fence treatment that you can use with their sprayer(retails about €36 for the sprayer), not too sure if the one year is sparayable or not
