Plasterer

In April we had to tear down the roof of our kitchen and dining room as it was about to fall through. As a result we had to gut the kitchen and reslab the walls. Now we need them plastered but have little cash left from all the unexpected expense.

I got a quote of €1000 to get the kitchen and dining room (walls & ceiling) and sitting room (walls only) plastered and am wondering if that sounds like a good price? I know that the price depends on the size of each room but I have been told that the average price is €200 per room.

The approx. sizes are: sitting room:15ftx15ft, kitchen: 17ftx10ft and the dining room 10ft in length with an area around patio doors and archway on the other end.

I'm still getting used to using this site. Have tried searching this subject but have not found a situation similar to my own.

Try looking at this link for searching: this link
(The search function is a bit busted, but they don't like to tell anyone!).

Can't help much with the plastering as the last small job I got done was a few years ago and I was quoted 650 euro/day or part thereof!

Hi yoganmahew, what problems are you having with the search facility? I wasn't aware of any issues, and I use it on a regular basis. If we know what the problem is, we can address it.
Cheers,
Leo

In my experience plasterers are very expensive and I think 1000 Euro for this amount of work is a good price. I would though check previous work. 200 per room sounds like cowboys.

Hi Leo, I'm not having any problems with search (not that I really use it). Please see Clubman's post (linked to in my previous post):
"Yeah - it's a bit flakey at times"
Ciao,
