Irish Broadband Breeze Connection

Hi
I've just got a Breeze connection installed from IBB. I just want to check that this is a secure connection and no-one can access it. I've asked the IBB Tech Support but they don't answer questions like that.
I've done a search on previous threads but can only locate ones related to wireless routers etc. I cannot use the internet unless its plugged into the modem. Does this mean its secure as obviously noone else can plug their PC into my modem? I don't have a wireless router
Apologies if this is a stupid question but I'm completely new to the whole internet thing!!
Thanks

 That's odd!

As long as you don't tell people the frequency it's using you should be ok. And i assume you need to put in a username and pass to login to the ISP server(s)? (think it's called a PPPoE)

Don't confuse wireless LAN security issues with wireless broadband security issues. The former are often discussed - e.g. ways to secure your wireless LAN router etc. The latter not so much but unlike wireless LANs (usually 802.11b/g operating in the 2.4GHz band) most people don't have the necessary equipment to eavesdrop and hack wireless broadband signals (usually WiMax or some variant on that theme operating at a different frequency to 802.11a (5GHz) or 802.11b/g (2.4GHz)). If you have a wireless LAN router then make sure that this is secured. Otherwise you can probably consider your wirelss broadband connection back to the IBB site as secure for all intents and purposes. However, as ever only used secure (HTTPS/SSL) sites for very sensitive stuff like online banking/purchases etc.). Hope that helps?
