Sat-Nav ?

I have to wonder with all the threads, in various forums, whether or not satnav is a good thing. My concern is based on the fact that if nobody can find the search function for the board or a particular forum...how are the going to find their way around a satnav device....to find out how to get where they want.

Are we breeding a new motorist who will be seen parked in a layby RTFM'ing for the satnav device so they can program it? In future when a car pulls up and winds down the windows will it be "do you know how to program...?" rather than "can you tell me how to get to...?" :D

I wonder will it come to it that they will be band from use while you are driving - as I think this is very dangerous. Then again reading a map and driving would be dangerous too.
