Hi Myself and my sister's and my mother are going to go somewhere on Friday the 27th a girly night away, we are looking for a hotel not too expensive (as one of my sisters is broke) for a nice meal nice relaxing environment maybe with a spa that my mam can get a treatment or not. Living in Louth will travel about 2-3 hours. Any sugguestions much appreciated.

Have you been to Virginia?

The Park Hotel has great food and the surroundings are nice - no spa or anything though. The hotel itself is kind of 'comfortably shabby' if you know what I mean. Virginia itself is nice for a night out and your weekend would have a relaxing vibe. About 1 hour from Dundalk/Drogheda.

how about Johnstown house in Enfield the hotel is lovely may be a bit pricey.

I like the Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise is lovely also and the spa is nice the pool is large so you can always chill, also the Atlantic Coast hotel in Westport is fab too, though it may be too far

Had girly weekend with my sisters and mum some time ago. Just fab weekend. Can have treatments in the spa but with their free facilities outdoor jacuzzi, steam room, hot stone beds, relaxation room, etc. there is loads to do without paying extra for treatments. But at least you have the option. We got good deal at the time but with the weather the way it has been I would imagine prices might have risen.

check out the osprey in naas, gorgeous spa, lovely restaurant and bar and time nightclub if you are into that!!! the spa is to die for!

I'd really recommend the Carlton Millrace in Bunclody, Co. Wexford - was there last year n got a great deal for night away plus meal in the restaurant which was really good quality. Leisure facilities were also good although I didn't use spa facilities. The hotel was lovely and quiet.
