Vancouver is lovely. Weather can be crappy though, similar to this godforsaken place!!
Anyway, a trip out to Vancouver Island is nice. If you're lucky there will be something on in the park near the river. Dunno what the name of it is but they have concerts and shít regularly in the summer.
Do you like playing poker? Then head out to a casino and play a few hands. Cos it's in Canadian Dollars you don't lose as much cos you still play the same numbers!!
I found these to be good and they are all in the north of the city:
Vancouver Aquarium if you want to see the beluga whales perform together with seals, sea lions etc. Actaully pretty good acquarium.
The Capilano Suspension Bridge, it is cool wooded area with a bridge 450 feet across and 230 feet up above river.
Grouse Mountain. Go up in the cable car and take in the views of the city, the parks, the bridges and the coastline. Great views of city.
Visit Stanley park and just wander around.
In the city itself:
Vancouver Lookout at Harbour Centre 360 revolving thingy me bob, with great views of city and down near harbour.
Visit Science World, especially if you have kids or you are abig kid yourself. They had Bond display when I was there.
Visit China town area, the food and the markets are differentto everything else.
Take a float plane ride from harbour area.
Hope these ideas are some help.
BTW Skagway will probably be very crowded. When I got there by road I was greeted by 6 cruise ships all of which had deposited their passengers into the town.
The cruise up the coast line should be cool. Keep and eye out for whales.
