Dont know if this has been covered before but i was travelling on the M50 from sandyford to malahide last saturday night / sun morning at 12.30am. The roadworks had the northbound traffic down to 1 lane between tallaght & toll plaza, and it was at a crawl. The journey took nearly an hour and a half! I couldnt believe it, at that time of night. i would have been quicker going through town.

But what really annoyed me was the fact that they still charge you the toll !!
the cheek!

rant over.

Coming back from the airport a few weeks ago, the person I was travelling with quipped "Dublin, the only city in the world with traffic jams at midnight"

I hope you told them to f-off back where they came from :D

Im surprised the toll hasn't gone UP to pay for the works!

The toll is for the bridge, not the road works.
I use the M50 every evening and am very happy with the rate the work is being done at. The tail backs before the Naas exit southbound are due to driver stupidity, not the split lanes.
As for hold-ups late at night, does anyone think it would be better to close a lane in the middle of the day?

Nail on the head there. 99% of Irish people haven't a clue how to drive on motorways or be in the right lane.
