google search problem

Can anyone tell me how to change the settings for google. Everytime I want to search for something....say I tpye the letter "p" in....then a list of everything beginning with "P" will show up. This is annoying as the previous search lists are hugh now. How can I change this..thanks...computer illiterate!

If ure using Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS, options and clear history.

tools,options and clear history does not work.doing that only clears the history on the address bar where you type in www.google.com but I want to clear the list of previously searched items on google.thanks

I was trying to find out how to do this ages ago, and then i copped on and decided to use google lol
