Pronunciation of a French surname

We've a French student arriving in the next few days - his surname is Puaux. Any suggestions for how I should pronounce this? Thanks, Anto
 
Yup. If you can manage it, that first 'u' syllable is not the broad, open 'ooh' sound of poo, but rather that little kinda pursed-up 'u' that you get in tu, du, etc.

But I agree with ninsaga's suggestion — until proven innocent, and all that... ;)
 
I'm voting for "Pox" - if only as a test of Franco-Hibernian relations! :D

But seriously - why not just ask him how you should pronounce his name? :confused:
