Attic Conversion in Limerick?

Hi,

Has anyone had an attic conversion done in the Limerick area? Looking for someone for a job that isn't really straightforward, involving a trussed roof and a chimney going up through the middle of the room...

Thanks,

Jennster

keep us posted if you find someone good. was thinking about this recently and was told it couldnt be done by a local builder. but there are loads in dublin doing it.

I've got a few builders in, three in total, who are coming back to me with quotes so I'll let you know what they say. They all seem to be very positive though - and I was careful to insist that the job is certified by an architect/engineer and they were happy with that. Fingers crossed!

Re: Attic Conversion prices?

Hi,

I wanted to check a few things with anyone in the know about an attic conversion.

I've got a few quotes which range from 8,000 to 16,500 and not sure what I should go with.

The attic won't be "habitable" in that it won't comply with fire regs but the more expensive quote includes certification from the builder and an engineer for the structure. As it's a trussed roof, I'm anxious that we get this. However, can there really be that much difference in price? I've also got wildly different ideas about time scale - cheaper guy is saying 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, more expensive guys are saying 6 weeks.

Can anyone offer any help? It's a terraced town house so the attic space is reasonably small.

Thanks,

Jennster

Hi Jennster
Could you pm me the names of the builders which you got quotes from. Looking to put extension on house in limerick and finding it hard to get people. Have gotten one quote but want to get a few more if possible...

Presume you have had a read thru all the many previous threads on attic conversion that might give you some advice.
