Getting worried. Friend getting married in July & I have found nothing to wear.

Can anyone recommend a shop that does stylish plus size wedding outfits to a reasonable budget? Preferably a shop that has no acrylic or viscose nightmares....

How about Evans or Dorothy Perkins? If its a summer wedding you can get some nice plus size outfits that you can wear again. Also with all the loose fitting styles out there its not as hard this summer to find something to wear for the larger lady.

I would second Dorothy Perkins. Also, Mosoon do some lovely dresses up to size 22/24.

Tried, no joy.
It's a really good friend so I want to look like I made a supreme effort for her.......(as the diet fell by the way side)

Totally understand your situation. I do a lot of shopping on-line and also from catalogues. I got a outfit from Family Album. I got so many compliments on it so I guess it doesnt matter where it comes from.

Also http://www.outsizeclothes.com is a good link site but because the wedding it in July you may not get it in time as most are 2 week delivery.

Best of luck. Just dont get too stressed about it and suddenly you will find something thats perfect.

Wedding

I was in Liffey valley last weekend in evans and there was a lovely Gold dress in there which was perfect for a wedding

I'm in the 18-20 size bracket unfort wear loose clothes

This was nice with alot of lace

To be honest its hard to find nice stuff for the + Sizes, but dorethy perkins/Debenhams has alot of good choice of sizes

Maybe evans might have that in other branches

i Guess gold is a bit strong , but u would'nt call it yellow or cream , so it was more an off gold , it looked lovely and u'd have to see it , Might be hard enough to get shoes to match
Though happy hunting,
By the way if u find some shop please post as it would be useful to know
dont like buying things too soon in advance , but have a wedd in july and hope to have lost some weight by then hopefully anyway

Found link on evans site for picture

it looks nicer in real life though
Got link from posting

Have you had a look in Michael H. Some of the stuff can be very old fashioned but there's an odd item in larger sizes that would suit for a wedding.

Debenhams might be worth a try also.

There is a shop specifically for sizes 16+ up in Drogheda beside the SuperValu (Stockwell Lane). It often appears on Ireland AM when they are doing fashion for the larger woman. Some friends have bought very nice stuff there and they recommend it as being a good option.
I can't remember the name of it off hand, sorry!

From the "Off the Rails" site

Oxendales do sizes from 12 to something like 30 I think. Some of the stuff can look a bit old fashioned but others really nice. You might be cutting it a bit fine with the wedding being in July, but if it is in the middle or later part of July you should have them.

Anyway, this is their site and you can also shop online on it.

Would you consider getting a dressmaker/tailor to make an outfit for you from a pattern of your choice?
