what new 3dr hatchback to go for

I've found BMW one of the better brands for dealers who actually seem interested: I've had good experiences at both Frank Keane and Joe Duffy.

Contrast this with some Mercedes dealers, who just don't seem to care less about how they treat their (potential) customers.

Any sales person who judges you by what you drive up in is just plain stupid: no other word for it.

I've also heard good reports of Belgard.

I agree...I've had a 'pleasant' experience in Frank Keane as well....however compared to BMW garages in the UK...the Irish dealerships are well behind. Agnews in belfast as well as a waitress service cafe which is complimentary, it has sky tv on flat screens, wireless internet for those who need to continue working and also kiddies play area. No comparison. I look forward to the day dealerships beign to value their customers

And another thing....

What's the story with limted opening hours on Saturday and none at all on Sunday?

About time car dealers woke up and realised they're basically retailers of consumer goods, and they ought to catch up with the rest of the retail sector in terms of opening hours that suit their customers rather than themselves....

I'd have to agree with that. Best customer service I've experienced from a dealer is from Joe Duffy in Milltown. Tommy (service manager) is a gent.
