Is it just me, the one thing that drives me crazy when shopping, checking the 'best before' sell by date, see side, top or bottom. Why cant they just put it in where it says 'best before'?

Reminds me of my friends tee shirt: 'Best Before' in large letters across his chest, 'See bottom' in small letters below

Your right:)! I`ve found myself on many occasion looking round for the best before date:confused:

What you have suggested would make sense to me, do you think there might be a logical explaination to the notice been on one side and the date on the other?

This is so true. I always find the label which says 'see side, top or bottom' but have often given up in frustration at looking for the date in these locations

the reasons the Best Before Dates are marked like this, ie on label, for Best Before Date see cap is simple really.

The labels are printed in thousands, hundreds of thousands, probably in a spearate location to the bottling plants. As the products are being packaged, ie bottled, the individual lids are stamped with the batch number and BBD, This is usually on the top and process occurs when the packaging process is complete. This would also be the case with cans etc where thousands are produced empty, and then stamped with BBD on completion of package.

Hope this helps end crazyness

So why they don't just put the best before notice in the same place as they put the best before date- lid/label/wherever
