Is it just me or why do they bother having him on when he has nothing of real substance to say about anything?

He didn't seem to have a great grasp of the situation when he was on the panel on day 1 of the counting. I seem to remember John Bowman making a show of him at one point.

I've seen/heard him several times over the past week and he sounds like a bombastic spoofer to me.

The guy is a total waffler. I get the impression too that he is maybe used to a bit more respect in other countries but the Irish media are rightly suspicious. His delivery is all very smooth and emphatic and full of soundbites - like a lot of American media types - but he says virtually nothing.

I could do it.;)

In case anyone didn't know he's a good buddy of the now "retired" PJ Mara and they've worked with a number of campaigns together in Europe, most notably this year in Ireland and 4 years ago, and again this November, here in Croatia.

But could you come up with incisive comments like "candidates with moustaches don't generally appeal to women" (while looking at Finian McGrath's poster) or "if this was Boston we'd have started the count immendiately after the polls had closed"? What a genius!

Really? Strange, wouldn't have thought PJ would rely on someone like this.
Thought Luntz was just a commentator/observer as opposed to advisor - do you know the extent of the 'collaboration'?

He does a lot of the pollster stuff, leaks, figuring ways ways around corners etc. It's difficult to put it down without being on the verge of ott.

But they were photo'd together here with other folks from HDZ in Zagreb.

I couldn't agree more.

Sean O'Rourke was laughing at the inconsistencies of his statements at one stage...
Terry Prone went through him for a shortcut on some of his comments about FG (and rightly so). I thought Garret Fitzgerald had a very baffled look when he was talking to him too... more baffled than usual that is... ;)

ps I'm not a blueshirt, I have no party affiliations...
