Quickest Way To Get Credit Card

Hi i have a credit card and myself and the gf are due to go on a 3 mth round the world trop starting on June 4th. Now i want her to have a credit card aswell, as back up.

Is it posssible for her to get thru all the paperwork between now and then and get a credit card?

She has a laser card with cirrus stamp alright.

Would it be advisable or not to get her a joint credit card (ie seperate card of her own)...If one card was stolen would both have to be cancelled?

There seems to be an awful lot of red tape involved in this incl. bills, proof of address etc...

She had a joint Credit card before with me but she cancelled it to get rid of the temptation so we thought would be no bother to get her recvonnected so to speak and get card sent out, but it does not appear to be as easy as this.....

Can u go into branch and go thru' all the details?

We are with BOI by the way...

I don't think that there is an awful lot of red tape involved. To open any new account the financial institution is obliged under the relevant money laundering legislation to establish your identity and this usually involves ID, proof of address and maybe proof of PPSN.
 
It might be tight setting up a credit card account. You could get her a second card from your account which should come through in a week - but you would need to be quick obviously.

If there are two cards and one is stolen, the stolen one can be cancelled without impacting on the remaining card.
